Top Norwegian League referee is joining the Survival Camp 2025
From code to courts — meet Sverre Francis Uijting, one of our most analytically driven participants: a software engineer by day, basketball referee by passion.
Originally from the Netherlands, Sverre has called Trondheim, Norway home since 2007. While his Dutch heritage remains close to his heart, his professional and sporting journey is firmly rooted in Norway.
Currently finalizing a Master’s degree in Informatics, Sverre has spent the last 4 years working for the Norwegian Government as a software engineer. But his work doesn’t end at the office — he’s also been an active basketball official for the past 6 seasons.
This past year marked a key milestone: Sverre earned his top league license and officiated his first game in Norway’s premier league. Alongside this, he continues to referee 1st division men’s and regional games, covering around 60 games per season.
His development is backed by international exposure, including time at both the Scania Referee Camp and Copenhagen Invitational, where he learned from elite-level instructors. When he’s not officiating or studying, Sverre still plays basketball recreationally and serves as a board member of his regional board — a 360° commitment to the game.
One of the most memorable elements of his journey? Refereeing alongside his father, a long-time official from an earlier era of basketball. Their discussions — often about differing officiating styles and approaches — bridge generations and underscore the evolving nature of the referee’s craft.

Sverre’s goal for Survival Camp 2025 is clear: return with targeted development insights and tools to level up. He’s eager to exchange ideas and philosophies with referees from across world.
Welcome to the camp, Sverre — where legacy, logic, and leadership converge.
