Julia Karamovic, camper from Sweden: Where Science, Sport, and Officiating Converge
Born and raised in Borås, Sweden, with proud Balkan roots, Julia Karamovic has forged a path that bridges high-performance sport and scientific precision. Now living in Halmstad, Julia is pursuing a degree in Biomedicine with a focus on Exercise Physiology, while simultaneously building a strong presence on Sweden’s officiating circuit.
Currently entering her fourth season as a Swedish National Referee, she regularly officiates in the second women’s and third men’s leagues, with clear aspirations of reaching the top national level.
Julia’s commitment to refereeing is reinforced by her academic background. Her interest in human performance, physiology, and biomechanics provides her with a unique analytical edge, both in physical preparation and decision-making on the floor.

“I believe in combining science, sport, and discipline to continuously improve — whether I’m holding a whistle or diving into academic research.”
This mindset not only defines her day-to-day work but also aligns seamlessly with the high-performance values of Survival Camp.
2025 marks Julia’s third participation in Survival Camp, a space she describes as “challenging and motivating” — perfect for those who want to elevate their game and mindset.
With her blend of intellectual curiosity and on-court focus, Julia is poised to take the next step in her officiating career. Survival Camp 2025 is one more vital checkpoint on her path toward becoming not only a top national referee — but a well-rounded professional prepared to lead and inspire.
Welcome back, Julia — your journey is a masterclass in balance and ambition.
