Kristians Eglītis Joins Survival Camp 2025: A Latvian Official with International Ambitions
Introducing Kristians Eglītis, a 24-year-old official from Jelgava, Latvia, whose journey in officiating began a full decade ago — and is steadily moving toward the international stage.
Kristians recently returned home to Latvia after spending 3.5 years in Denmark, where he studied and simultaneously officiated at the highest domestic level — Basketligaen. During his time there, he even got a taste of international basketball with an assignment in the ENBL. Now back in Latvia, he’s actively working games in the National League, the country’s second tier.
Professionally, Kristians works as a software developer for an e-commerce consulting company — a role that complements his analytical mindset on the court. His approach to officiating is structured, feedback-driven, and improvement-oriented: “It’s about working on the small details that make the big picture stronger.”
Over the past few years, Kristians has sharpened his craft through repeated participation in the Scania Camp and multiple appearances at the Nordic Championship, building a strong foundation of international experience.
His long-term vision? To reach the international level — not through shortcuts, but through consistent refinement, peer feedback, and a deliberate commitment to evolving with every season. “My goal is to finish each year stronger than I started it.”
Kristians joins Survival Camp 2025 with a clear focus: elevate the margins, challenge his limits, and engage with like-minded referees who share his drive for excellence.
Welcome aboard, Kristians — precision, purpose, and potential all in one.
