Yuta Takaoka returns to Survival Camp, bringing global perspective to the court

Originally from JapanYuta Takaoka is a truly international referee whose refereeing journey has spanned continents. Currently based in Luxembourg, Yuta officiates primarily adult-level competitions while preparing for his long-term goal: to return home and build a career as a professional referee in Japan.

His unique experience includes stints in Japan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Luxembourg — where he has been consistently welcomed into the local basketball communities.

“I’m deeply grateful to each of the associations and referees who supported me in every location.”

Yuta is no stranger to intensive development environments. In addition to last year’s Survival Camp, he also attended a referee camp in the United States, gaining insights and motivation that continue to shape his officiating craft.

Now back for another edition of Survival Camp, he enters the summer focused, energised, and ready to sharpen his edge for the season ahead — both physically and mentally.

We’re proud to welcome Yuta again — bringing discipline, diversity, and dedication to the group.
