Every Day Higher and Further: Maks Gosztyła, referee from Poland, Heads to Survival Camp 2025

We are pleased to announce that Maks Gosztyła, a referee from Kraków, will be joining us at Survival Camp 2025.

At just 21 years old, Maks is entering his fourth season as a referee, officiating within the Kraków region in Poland. Born and raised in the city, his journey with basketball began thanks to his uncle, who introduced him to the game through vintage NBA posters — a moment that sparked a lasting passion.

Currently studying special education, Maks is deeply involved in work with the deaf community, fluent in sign language — a skill he humorously admits has, on occasion, caused him to flash the wrong signals on court. His motto, “success likes silence,” is a mantra rooted in his day-to-day work, reflecting his humility and quiet determination to grow.

Maks is actively pursuing promotion to the National level in Poland and sees Survival Camp as a key step on this path. His diverse interests — from scouting and nature to playing the guitar — make him a well-rounded and thoughtful individual. He lives by the line from a pre-war scout poem: “Every day higher and further.”

We look forward to watching Maks bring his energy, discipline, and quiet strength to the camp.
