Damir Javor – Elite EuroLeague Referee Joins the Survival Camp 2025 as a Guest Speaker

We are delighted to announce that Damir Javor, one of Europe’s most experienced basketball referees, will be joining the Instructors’ Team this summer.

Damir began his officiating journey in 1995 and quickly rose through the ranks, entering 1 st Slovenian professional league in the 2000/2001 season, earning his FIBA referee license in 2006 and EuroLeague licence in 2009. His path since then has been marked by consistent excellence on the global stage.

Damir’s portfolio includes:

  • Four EuroLeague Final Fours, including the Final Game in 2016 (Berlin)
  • 2016 Rio Olympic Games
  • FIBA AFROBASKET Final (2015, Tunisia)
  • NBA Summer League (2015)
  • Multiple FIBA World Championships U17 and U19 (Men’s and Women’s)
  • Over 20 years of ABA League service (he top-tier regional men’s professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia), including 12 Finals

Beyond officiating, Damir has played a significant leadership role in referee education. As the Head of the Refereeing Department at the Basketball Association of Slovenia, he has been instrumental in developing, mentoring, and evaluating referees at all levels — helping to elevate the standards of officiating both domestically and internationally.

He has also served as an instructor at the Cando Basketball Camp, led by renowned international basketball educator Mr. Alan Richardson.

Damir brings unparalleled insights into game management, advanced officiating mechanics, and the mindset required to perform at the highest levels of international competition. His presence will be a major asset to all Survival Camp participants seeking to grow through elite-level instruction.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of Europe’s most experienced referees — a true leader both on and off the court.
