Oman’s Voice: Taha Al Amri at Survival Camp 2025 as a camper
Introducing another participant of Survival Camp 2025 – Taha Al Amri, a dedicated basketball referee from the Sultanate of Oman, whose journey in officiating began a decade ago.
Taha’s career started in 2015, when he completed the basic referee course organised by the Oman Basketball Association. What began as a local engagement quickly evolved into a professional path — within a year, he was officiating youth league games and steadily rose through the ranks to become a referee across all national competitions in Oman, as well as at the GCC level.

Taha lives in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, just 30 minutes from Muscat, the capital city. In addition to his refereeing credentials, he is a computer technician and a graduate of Gulf College. His talents extend beyond the basketball court — he is also experienced in equestrianism, including horse taming, and has previously competed in peg-picking events on horseback.
Taha is proud to represent Oman at the Survival Camp 2025. Grateful to the Oman Basketball Association for their support and nomination, he is eager to gain international experience, develop his skills further, and connect with fellow referees from around the world.
