Session 2, day 1 – 2025
This morning we started the day by meeting the new teammates who arrived last night. We followed up with a short introduction session on the 3PO mechanics—mainly for those who hadn’t practiced it yet and as a refresher for those who hadn’t officiated with it in a while. After that, we picked up our gear, had the official campus introduction and presentation, and went over some clips we had worked on during the trip.
Next, we had a psychology talk with Toby, where we discussed the importance of pregame routines and he shared some tips to help us stay focused.
Right before lunch, we had a speed training session. After lunch and a short break to rest, it was time for the games. We gathered for a quick pregame meeting and then headed to the gym. There, we split into groups—while some officiated games, others went through a leg workout, because apparently, speed training and refereeing a game weren’t quite enough for one day.
After the games, we had dinner, showered, and took some time to relax. Before going to bed, we reviewed the games, answered some rule-related questions we had prepared during the trip, and analyzed a few clips focusing on screens and charge/block situations.
